Bus Pass Processing Update

The Bus Pass Office is working diligently to process Bus Pass Applications. All Parents who submitted either a Renewal Form by May 29,2015 or a 2015-16 Bus Pass Application by the July 2nd deadline, have had their Bus Pass issued or processed. As of the date of this posting, Sept 3, 2015, late applications submitted by August 10 have been processed. Bus Pass office Staff will do everything to process passes as quickly as possible. Please don't send your student to a Bus Stop without a pass. Passes are the means the Transportation keeps an account of passengers and their assigned boarding and disembarking location. Sending them without a pass creates unnecessary risk. Thank you for abiding by this policy.

Our Mission & Vision

The Capistrano Unified School District Transportation Department recognizes that:

  • The Department’s mission is to support the students’ educational needs and rights, and is committed to making their fulfillment possible.
  • The students are entitled to the highest degree of safety in transportation; to consistent, reliable and efficient transportation services; and to the utmost professionalism from Transportation staff.
  • The Department’s role goes beyond supporting the educational system; it is an integral part of this system. Drivers and other Staff are educators.
  • Its support for education requires that its operations be conducted efficiently and cost-effectively.

In all aspects of its operations, the Department is ruled by the principle that the children, not the employees, come first.

To fulfill this mission, the Transportation Department is committed to hiring and retaining the best employees, to providing them with the best training and to implementing the best practices.

RED LIGHT LAW

AN IMPORTANT
REMINDER TO OUR PARENTS, PUBLIC, STAFF
AND DRIVING-AGE STUDENTS

California Vehicle Code requires that motorists stop when school buses activate the flashing red lights, indicating that the bus is loading or unloading children. Motorists who are approaching the school bus on the opposite side of a divided or multiple-lane highway are not required to stop. This is the only exception! When you see flashing red lights activated on a school bus, prepare to STOP! Violation may result in fine or suspended license.
